The Conservative Ketubah text is a legal document, written in Aramaic, that dates back to the Talmudic era. Revolutionary for its time, the original Ketubah language outlines protections for the bride, which are established to ensure her financial security and well-being. The modern Conservative movement, in order to ensure egalitarianism and provide equality between the sexes, has added an additional codicil, known as the 'Lieberman Clause', to the traditional text.
