Acclaimed Israeli Fashion Designer Alon Livné brings both his modern ready-to-wear style and high fashion aesthetic to the bridal industry once again. This year he displayed his EDEN Collection at his showroom in Soho and we were honored to be invited for a private showing. Choosing gowns for the model to try on was like being a kid in a candy story. But instead of candy it was was silk, lace and tulle to play with!
Some Israeli wedding designs tend to lean toward…dare we say…tacky. That is not what you will find while browsing Livné’s collection. For the 2019 bride he really wanted to bring his avant garde style and design aesthetic to the market. Every bride today is looking for a dress that truly sets them apart from all the others. Everyone has their own following on Instagram and personal brand – so why not bring that uniqueness and style to your wedding dress? Which is why now is the time to enter the bridal market.
“EDEN is inspired by the innocence and fragility portrayed in the story of Genesis, along with the femininity and empowerment following the revelation of sexuality caused by Eve tasting the forbidden fruit,” says Alon, and this is all reflective of the bride wearing one of his gowns. The styles vary from ‘Old Hollywood’ in the Jackie, to more boho-chic such as the Nina, and touches of inspiration from the 80’s as you can see in the Melissa gown with her full one shoulder oversized bow. Whatever your fashion inspo you will find a gown in EDEN.
One of the best parts about working with Livné isn’t just that you are supporting an Israeli designer, but that they understand the religious traditions of a Jewish and Jew-ish wedding. You have the ability customize your dress with covers or a boleros for your chuppah ceremony that your rabbi will approve and you’ll love.
Some lucky brides and clients can even work one-on-one with Livné to design a one-of-a-kind gown whether you’re the bride, bridesmaid or mother of a bride or groom or you have a big event coming up. You’ll get a hand sketch of your gown and meet with the designer himself.
This season they are also offering accessories for sale like the Maddy hat in these editorial photos!
